In this series, I explore the intersection of traditional and digital media by merging hand-drawn sketches, painted textures, and my original photography with digital painting techniques in Procreate. Each piece begins with a physical foundation—pencil, acrylic paint, charcoal, ink, and collage—paired with photographs I’ve captured, then scanned or imported into the digital space. From there, I layer, rework, and reinterpret the imagery through digital mark-making, adding color shifts, light effects, and atmospheric textures.
The process is both a conversation and a transformation: the tactile marks of traditional media and the personal lens of photography are preserved, but also disrupted and reimagined through digital tools. This hybrid approach allows me to push the boundaries of realism and abstraction, creating compositions that exist between worlds—anchored in the handmade and the photographed, yet shaped by the fluidity of digital media.
This series reflects my fascination with process, impermanence, and the evolution of an image over time. It’s a way of honoring the raw immediacy of traditional materials and photographic observation, while embracing the versatility and experimentation made possible in the digital realm.
